grand funk railroad

...when this got released in 69 th' same month as th'woodshuck festival it got dissed by critics 'n rock snobs from here to anywhere...th' general consensus amongst th'cubes was that this disk was noisey'n unmusical 'n not worthy o' turntable time...but this was also th'(comin to th') height o' th'amerikkkan war machine killin' its children in th'nam aswell as at home so it was inevitable that some blue collars would eventually break through with some stoner R&B to reflect th' heavy pig menace o' maced-out times in urban areas...takin' their cue from th'heavied out blues rock th'anglo combos were peddlin' this is one bonged splatter o' screechin' swill that most likely is their best effort, certainly th'purest...a swell'n chipper racket o' gross heavyosity...

...whoa, these cats sure're layin' down some monster boogie this second go round with churnin' industrial strength choogle that would just shake a ballroom to th'ground leavin' a pile o' smokin' ruins...monumental, sometimes near slowmotion riffs with high energy screeechin' 'n pummel from front to end...top class blast...

...recorded at at three different venues on their 71 country wide tour this certainly shows off th'funk at th'height o' their powers before they started panderin' to commercial tastes'n waterin' down th'noise to a more acceptable square level...here is some monster riffin', full on power trio thud attack with fx pedal madness pourin' out coverin' all th' stoners in glorious showers o' stringbendin' chaos...theres no coastin' here, just heavy blasts o' thick air churnin' choogle that just don't stop...as a service to cats with certain preferences'n conditions it should be noted that track8 has a monumentally long, longer than string, drum solo so medication is probably needed...
