chain gang

...theres a whole mess of thud and thump punk rock screach going on with this super-nice collection of crazed swill, both live andi the studio from late '70s and on for a decade...its the sound of bad drugs and cheapo-cheapo beer all peculating ready to explode...something approaching a less arty flipper with the freeform spirit of '77style punk, this trashed out combo from the bowels of NYC have always been true to the underground rocking vibe and never sold out (selling out?who's going to buy this)...layabouts with strong views on such matters can be assured that listening to this is the real deal and not some flakey-foont type squares looking to snag some bread with cookie-cutter-punk...this is true aural slop from the back alleys, from basements of long abandoned buildings, where junkys lurch and flop in a stupor brought on by an excess of society...
...son of sam...

Chain Gang were a great band. Track down the Forced Exposure zine with an interview with these guys, it is great.

it surely is and all forced exposure issues are worth the effort of locating for the indepth stuff they wrote about...one of the last great mags, before the net and whack music killed off zines completely...
