masque benefit

...when punk club the masque needed bread to keep going, to keep the doors open back in early 78, all LA punk combos got together for a show over the weekend of 24/25 february to help bring in the necessary scratch ($4.300 raised)...all the rocking cats were there, black randy/screamers/controllers/dils/zeros/deadbeats/alley cats/dickies/flesheaters/f-word/eyes/plugz plus the four featured on this historical document, germs/bags/skulls/weirdos...cats who know the score when it comes to late '70s punk swill know whats on offer here, intense crazy pounding, guitars spraying 'out of tune' electric noise pellets, shouting and screaching and moaning (alice bag on this one) all speeding down the back alleyways of rock'n'rolling, out of control neo bohemian ruffians and hooligans all racing to the new dawn, all hoping to save their premier punk club from extinction...the tapes are a bit messy but that as always just adds to the listening pleasure, taking it all back to when the rough and ready was the only way, no planned out strategies with everything neatly in its place, this is a drunk driver on the hi-way to nirvanic oblivian...
